At Speaking of... LLC we aim to provide quality early intervention and therapy to assist both parent, child, and educator to learn to communicate effectively with one another and those they come in contact with. We do this by educating and teaching proven strategies that helps children break through the walls of communication. Our motto is “enhancing the development of the whole child” and we truly adhere to that.

Meet our founder Mrs. Jalen Poindexter-Martin! Mrs. Jalen was born and raised in Maryland. She attended North Carolina A&T State University where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in Speech Language Pathology & Audiology. After graduation she returned to Maryland to work as a Audiology Assistant/Newborn Hearing Screener where her love for the early intervention population grew. Mrs. Jalen attended Howard University to obtain her masters degree in Speech Language Pathology.
She has several years of experience in various settings serving children. She has worked on interdisciplinary teams to include family/caregivers, educators, other therapy staff members, and community members. Mrs. Jalen has experience with expressive and receptive language disorders, fluency (stuttering) disorders, articulation disorders, voice disorders, autism, childhood apraxia of speech and intellectual disabilities. She founded Speaking of...LLC with the intention of helping children communicate effectively and providing supports to the community.
